Slow stays

The Data Lab tracks how long visitors actually remain in each of Korea's 229 districts. A long average stay means a place people settle into rather than tick off — the opposite of a tour-bus stop. These are the twenty slowest places in Korea.

The pattern: islands (울릉군 — Ulleungdo — tops the country), east-coast harbor towns, and inland mountain counties. If you want the Korea where nobody is in a hurry, book a night in one of these.
